Excellent discussion.

The largest storage battery in NZ is Lake Manapouri which keeps an aluminum smelter running 24/7 with rain that falls free from the sky . NZ is simply not geographically suited for wind or solar or nuclear despite industry influencer commentary to the contrary

Thanks Winston, I agree hydro lakes are an accumulator taking the highly disperse low-density kinetic energy of rain and concentrating it. It's a great feature of topography and something we should exploit to the fullest extent.

Pretty much on the nail Larry but just one correction Mercury and Meridian don't have geothermal it is Contact who are the biggest in geothermal correct me if I am wrong
